The 25th anniversary of the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (also known as CMS or the Bonn Convention) was an excellent opportunity to analyse what had been achieved until now, and how the conventions might operate in the future. The convention has gone a long way during the last years, and now cooperates with other organisations and initiatives from all over the world, to improve and secure the conservation status of migratory species. Together, scientists, practitioners and politicians learned and discussed how their conservation goals and policies could be harmonised towards "best practise" schemes in future. Presentations and discussions were grouped within three thematic blocks, dealing with ecological, political and interdisciplinary issues, entitled.
