Migratory. Passage oceanic towards Hawaiian Is, but many birds move along outer coast and Islands of British
Columbia and Washington; some birds pass Kuril Is, Japan and Korea on migration, but probably most reach
Australia directly across Pacific, some via New Guinea; stragglers reach n New Zealand. 1 st –year birds often
remain S during breeding months. Spring migration Apr-May; autumn migration mid-Jul to mid-Oct. Probably
