Resident and short-distance migrant. Less migratory than congeners; nominate race more or less sedentary, or
withdraws only short distance from extreme N parts. In non-breeding season occurs S to N Baja California,
sometimes slightly farther S to about 29 N. Remains in winter quarters Oct-Mar, return to breeding grounds
