Winters primarily from Georgia, Florida and S Texas to Mexico and Cuba; occurs casually i winter throughout
most of breeding range; temperature important determining winter distribution, and species avoids areas where
marshes freeze. Spring arrivals noted Apr-May. Migrates alone and at night; strikes buildings, telephone lines
etc., and appear in cities during migration. In Mexico, occupation of seasonal wetlands indicative of local
movements and dispersal. casual or accidental Newfoundland, Prince Edward Is, Maine, E Colorado and dry
