Eudyptes chrysocome

Pre-moult period at sea 20-35 days; birds remain at sea c. 6 months from Apr/May to Sept/Oct, depending on population, after completion of moult and before start of subsequent breeding season. Population of Falklands apparently moves to coastal Argentina, occurring N to 35 S. Vagrant to South Africa, New Zealand, Australia and Antarctica.
