Cuculus poliocephalus

Migratory, entire breeding population apparently moving SW or S to wintering grounds. Winters in peninsular India, Sri Lanka and also in E Africa; occurs in Seychelles on autumn (Nov) and spring (Apr) passage. Almost unknown in Thailand, where only three specimens known ( all from N in May). Present in Kenya Nov - Apr: one ringed in coastal Kenya in Nov recovered inland in Kenya in Dec; birds in Apr clearly departing migrants, as they are fat and silent.
