Buteo lineatus

N Populations migrate to winter from C USA, where populations resident, to NE Mexico. Autumn migration from mid-Sept to Oct. Spring movement may start late Feb or Mar, with most pairs back at nests by middle to late Mar. In California and Florida, birds remain on breeding territory all year round.
