Adults stay within vicinity of colony after breeding. Young birds disperse: those from New Zealand move W
across Tasman Sea to S Australian waters, where ringing results have shown they may cover 2600 km in a week;
large numbers follow W and E coasts of Australia N as far as Tropic of Capricorn. Several records of individuals
