Movements of breeding season, small groups tend to congregate, often with other Ciconiiformes; much more scattered when breeding. Sometimes crosses Andes in Peru. Preliminary results of study using radio-tracking in Pantanal of Brazil suggests birds may move to Chaco zone of Argentina, Nov-Jun.
