Strongly migratory. Post-breeding movement through Russia chiefly towards SE, then apparently via E
Mongolia, China (late Jul to Aug), Taiwan and Philippines, occasionally through Japan, rarely Korea; present in
Australia mainly Nov-Feb, late birds up to mid-Apr. Birds moving N from Philippines may follow coast of
China from early Mar, until the move inland near Bo Hai (Gulf of Chihli). (del Hoyo J, Elliott A,
