Locally migratory, depending on water levels of rivers. present in many breeding areas only Apr-Aug; moves to
lower levels in winter. Mainly summer breeding visitor to Pakistan, but up to 350 birds recorded in Jan;
disappears from R Indus in mid-winter, though over 500 birds seen together on Indus in Mar. Vagrant W to
