Verbreitungskarte von Coturnicops noveboracensis Occupied breeding areas from late Apr to May to Sep-Oct. thought to migrate over broad front; at least some move in groups; sometimes striking towers, suggesting nocturnal migration. in Michigan, young depart natal site late Sept to early Oct. also recorded in summer from SE Alaska, S British Columbia and Colorado; on migration recorded Arizona and New Mexico, and irregularly in most of USA E of Rocky Mts; vagrant to Grand Bahama (1 recorded).   (del Hoyo J, Elliott A, Sargatal J (eds), 1996)
