move in groups; sometimes striking towers, suggesting nocturnal migration. in Michigan, young depart natal site
late Sept to early Oct. also recorded in summer from SE Alaska, S British Columbia and Colorado; on migration
recorded Arizona and New Mexico, and irregularly in most of USA E of Rocky Mts; vagrant to Grand Bahama
