Verbreitungskarte von Charadrius montanus Migratory. On breeding grounds, flocks form from mid-Jun onwards; present in inland wintering areas chiefly from early Nov to mid-Mar; main wintering area is Central Valley of California; arrives in flocks on breeding grounds in Colorado by late Mar to Apr, probably after non-stop flight from wintering areas; migratory routes unknown.   (del Hoyo J, Elliott A, Sargatal J (eds), 1996)
