Most birds migrate N in non-breeding season, although some still found on most of breeding range except
extreme S. on pacific coast, reaches antofagasta, N Chile; from Patagonia reaches Uruguay and Rio Grande do
Sul, SE Brazil. Seems faithful to wintering sites. Falkland Is population sedentary, only moving short distance
outside season. During non-breeding season loosely social, occasionally in flocks of 150 or more.
